Note from the Editor: It took me a while to publish Miki's Story after she submitted it. She has stopped being a strict Carnivore. She has switched to a meat-based diet and reintroduced FODMAP fruits and vegetables. Her meals are still primarily focused on meat and eggs. She feels she is more comfortable with leaner meats, some carbs, as well as tracking her macros. It is important to find out what works best for you. She currently consumes around 80g Carbs and 130g Protein, with 100g of Fat. The world would be in better shape if everyone ate a meat-heavy diet, with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Since I have no metabolic problems, I do not have to follow a strict Carnivore diet. It is what I like, it works and it is convenient. If I feel like eating some strawberries, I will. It won't destroy my beliefs or digestive system. It's great that I have a choice. Many people are forced to use Carnivore. This post is full of information that I think you will find useful.

I am a bartender/personal coach living in Las Vegas. I also compete bikini.

2) What did you eat prior to Carnivore?

I used to be a vegetarian. I thought that eating meat would make me fat and chubby. It was a high-carb diet.

Why did you first try Carnivore?

After feeling depleted while preparing for my bikini contest, I added meat back into my diet. I had terrible acne, panic attacks and felt mentally unstable. It was 10 weeks before my bikini competition. I wanted meat!!! I had a double-double in In-N'-Out as a cheat and could feel my blood pumping and mood boosting. After that, I started eating a lot more red meat with eggs and brown rice along with vegetables to lose weight. Then I stopped eating the rice and veggies the day after the competition and I haven't been happier

4) What is your personal approach to the Carnivore Diet?

The Carnivore Diet is a way of eating whatever I want, when I want. Add bacon grease, butter, or ghee if the meat cut is too lean. Many people I follow on Instagram post their recipes, so I am also heavily influenced by these.

5) Tell us about the benefits you have seen since beginning your Carnivore Diet.

Since starting the Carnivore Diet, I have seen a clearer complexion. My family called me Pizza Face because I had always suffered from acne. This is no longer a problem. My stomach isn't chubby, I have a well-balanced body, and I am so energized that I don’t even need coffee anymore. I just love it. No more depression or anxiety.

6) Have you noticed any negative effects of the Carnivore Diet?

The Carnivore Diet was not without its negatives. I experienced diarrhea for a couple of days when I first started.

When I compete again, hopefully in summer 2019, I will most likely coach myself as I cannot find a coach with experience working with 100% carnivores. Everybody says I need vegetables to digest .... *laughs*

7) How do you exercise when you are on the Carnivore Diet?

I do exercise with the Carnivore Diet. I feel so energized that I go to the gym daily. I do cardio and lift weights 3 times per week.

8) How would you advise someone who has been considering this diet but is not ready to take the plunge?

Trust the process is my advice to anyone who wants to try this diet. One size does not fit all. Find out what you like.

9) Will Carnivore ever be accepted by the mainstream?

Do you believe Carnivore diet will be accepted by the mainstream? No. I'd like to see a Netflix documentary that will make me think otherwise.
